Quickstart and page management

Create a safe draft, configure URL and navigation, build a first page, and publish after review.

Create a safe draft, configure its URL and navigation behavior, build a first page, and publish it only after review.

This walkthrough assumes PageDesigner is installed, licensed, and that your account can view, create, and update PageDesigner pages.

Before you create the page

Prepare:

  • A clear visitor-facing title.
  • A short URL ending, called the slug.
  • The page's audience and one main goal.
  • Approved copy, images, links, prices, and claims.
  • A decision about whether the page belongs in the site navigation.
  • A review owner who can approve publication.

Good first pages answer three questions near the top: what is this, why does it matter, and what should the visitor do next?

Create an unpublished page

Open the page list

In Paymenter administration, open Extensions → Page Designer.

Select Create

Enter a clear Title. PageDesigner can generate a slug from the title while the slug has not been customized.

Review the slug

Use letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores. A title such as Summer offers normally becomes summer-offers, which is available at /summer-offers.

Avoid internal names such as new-page-final-2.

Keep Published off

An unpublished page is a draft. Authorized administrators may still be able to preview it, but ordinary visitors receive no page.

Save the page record

After creation, PageDesigner opens the page record. The Open Editor action launches the visual editor in a new tab.

Understand the page list

Column or actionMeaning
TitleThe page's administrative and visitor-facing title
SlugThe URL path after the site domain
PublishedWhether ordinary visitors can open the page
Last UpdatedThe most recent saved record change
View PageOpens the storefront page; it is available for published pages and authorized draft reviewers
EditOpens page-wide settings and the Open Editor action
DeletePermanently removes the page
Page MarketplaceBrowses complete page packages
MCPManages external-assistant connection tokens
Import PageCreates a new draft from a PageDesigner page share link or UID

Use search and sorting to find pages. Before deleting a page, check menus, campaigns, emails, buttons, and external links that may still point to it. Unpublishing is the safer choice when a page may return later.

Page Settings

Title

Use a name visitors and administrators will understand. Examples:

  • About us
  • Managed hosting
  • Getting started
  • Summer 2026 offer

Slug

The slug must be unique and cannot conflict with an existing GET or HEAD route.

Changing a published slug changes the public URL. Update every inbound link and consider a redirect outside PageDesigner when preserving the old URL matters.

Published

Turn this on only when the page is approved. Save and publish are separate:

  • Save in the editor stores the canvas.
  • Published in Page Settings controls public access.

Show in Navigation

This setting adds a published page to Paymenter's navigation hook.

  • Published + navigation off: the page is public but must be reached by its URL or another link.
  • Published + navigation on: the page can appear in the site navigation.
  • Draft + navigation on: it remains unavailable to ordinary visitors.

Lower values appear first. Pages with the same value are then ordered by title. Using 10, 20, and 30 leaves space to insert another page later.

Build the first page

  1. Select Open Editor.
  2. Open Blocks in the left panel.
  3. Drag a simple hero or introductory model into the canvas.
  4. Add one benefits or features section.
  5. Add one final call to action.
  6. Replace every sample word, image, price, link, and name.
  7. Check desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  8. Save.
  9. Select Preview and test the real links and interactive parts.

Do not begin by adding every available model. Start with the visitor's decision and add only sections that help that decision.

Return to page settings

The editor opens in another tab so page-wide settings remain available. Before leaving:

  1. Select the save icon.
  2. Wait for the status to show Saved.
  3. Select the exit control.
  4. Confirm only after saving.

Return to the page record for SEO, publishing, navigation, and advanced code.

Publish safely

  1. Save the editor canvas.
  2. Open full Preview.
  3. Test every important link and interaction.
  4. Review every supported language.
  5. Complete the SEO fields.
  6. Return to Page Settings.
  7. Turn on Published.
  8. Turn on Show in Navigation only when appropriate.
  9. Save.
  10. Open View Page and verify the public result as a normal visitor.

If approval is uncertain, keep the page unpublished. A saved draft is the safe stopping point.

H[Hero: what, why, action] --> B[Benefits or outcomes]
    B --> E[Evidence, features, plans, or examples]
    E --> R[Reassurance: FAQ, support, trust]
    R --> C[Final call to action]

This is a starting pattern, not a requirement. A policy page or contact page may need a different structure.
